Honduras Dental Mission

Dr. Moorkamp completed his 4th Dental mission trip to Honduras last month with a longtime friend Dr. Tom Blake the Co-founder of Sonresis Siempre (Spanish for smiles forever) a non-profit group of Dentists, Hygienists, and unselfish volunteers who primarily go to the Club de Liones de Comayagua where for almost 20 years they have established a 9 chair general  dentist clinic with donated equipment for preventive and restorative general dentistry. Thus fulfilling (pun intended) some of the unmet needs of this community of approx 100,000 as well as outreach clinics primarily doing oral surgery in the coffee growing villages surrounding Comayagua Honduras.
Dr. Moorkamp says he is inspired to give by his maternal Grandma Fahrenhorst who would take Meals on Wheels  to the “old people” as she put it when she was in her 70’s. His mom continues to quietly volunteer for many causes in her 80’s.
